Itâ€™s Gatewayâ€™s turn to deliver its best mobile entertainment solution via the new MC notebook series with the MC7803u and MC7801u being the first introduced from the line.
The illuminated multimedia touch controls, a stylish glass display with vibrant colors, powerful graphics processing, and low-power consumption provided by the latest Intel Centrino 2 technology, are all combined in the new Gateway laptops with an elegant external design with mirror finish available in 2 colors, burgundy and black, with synthetic leather branding stripe flanked by silver accents.
The new Gateway laptops provide a 16-inch widescreen display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, and the MC7803u bring an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 graphics card with its own 512MB memory. An ambient light sensor adjusts the screenâ€™s brightness according to the surrounding light conditions, while the LED backlight keyboard provides clear viewability for typing in the dark.
Other features of these notebooks include HDMI connectivity for external displays supporting High Definition content, a 5-in-1 card reader, 4 USB 2.0 ports for peripherals, a built-in 1.3MP web camera for online conferences, wireless draft N support for high-speed mobile broadband Internet, Gigabit Ethernet and up to 4GB DDR2 memory.
Specific to Gateway MC7801u are the 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 processor, the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD, 320GB hard drive capacity, a Multi-Format Dual Layer DVDRW with DVD-RAM and LabelFlash Technology, and a retail price of $949.99.
The Gateway MC7803u brings powerful graphics processing via the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 card, and all the other components of the previously described model, all at a retail price of $999.99.
The new Gateway laptops from the MC series will be available later this month with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit Edition with SP1, Microsoft Works 9.0 and a 60-day trial of Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007.
